Whale(鯨魚) graveyard(墓地) unearthed(出土)


The fossilised(化石) bones of whales unearthed in the Atacama Desert in Chile.

Palaeontologists(古生物學家) have dug up(挖出) a massive(巨大的) grave(墳墓) containing(包括) the seven-million-year-old creatures(動物).

Fossils from fifteen animals have so far been excavated(出土), some of them complete skeletons. The hoard() also includes the remains of sharks, dolphins and seals.

The discovery is believed to have global importance and is crucial(關鍵) for research.
